#018 – Sheikh Almahshi

Description

Sheikh Almahshi is one of the most prominent Syrian dishes, a role that is reflected in its literal meaning where sheikh means leader or senior, and Almahshi means stuffed vegetable, marking it as the top of all Mahshi. The dish consists of courgette that is fried and stuffed with a meat mix then cooked in a yoghurt sauce and served hot, along with roasted pine nuts. Served with rice.
